Antonio Hiponia Luna or “DunLuna” is a Bachelor of Fine Arts major in Painting graduate of the University of Santo Tomas. As a student, he showed his talent when he won several awards with uncommon consistency. This inspired him to participate in several group shows after graduation culminating in a successful one man show in Manila before moving to Canada .
In this new adopted country, he found some artistic outlet when he worked as a typeface designer. He became so adept and won first place in the 1984 Studio Magazine type designing contest for his entry, the Serif design typeface “Hedalgo”.
In 1999, he finally, joined the Philippine Artist Group of Canada, the art group he just watched on the sidelight since he was so immersed in his own retail business. Since then he has become actively involved in the group’s activities and exibitions. For a number of years now, he regularly visits the Philippines to experience the lush of tropical landscapes and capture them with his own vision on canvas in his own characteristically vibrant transparent colors in oils and acrylics. Dunluna’s art, like his cloud-cladded mountains is ready to unfurl.
