Rocille Lampitoc, grew up in the art milieu. Bold strokes of colors, light and shadows, expressions of emotions captured by strokes of a brush, these are her inspirations and the hallmarks of her paintings. A graduate of Fashion Design with awards, from Long Beach, California and Sheridan College, Ontario, her innate desire to paint had to be released. She disciplined herself to paint again. From fast paced to slow. “It was a humbling experience.” Rocille confided.
Proud of her Philippine heritage, Rocille focused on the colorful Filipino dancers. Then her fascination grew towards other cultures. Her background in fashion and the influence of her father who is a noted impressionist artist and her love of diversity around her; a theme for her first one-woman show were born. A celebration of multiculturalism, sponsored by the Ontario community of Malvern. The Theme “Faces of Malvern” was an important statement honoring each culture represented in the community.
She has since participated in many group shows and exhibits at colleges and civic centers. While Rocille continues to work in the fast paced realm of fashion and design, she has learned to slow down and enjoy every moment of life and the people around her. The inspiration for and focus of her paintings.
